Finding the "K" in 25 years of Kevin's Life

I had a dream the night before Kevin's birthday of some things that had happened in his life that started with the letter K.  Could I find a K for each year?  I was up for the challenge!  It may be a little bit of a stretch for some, but a mom can make things happen!

#1 1988 -  After two girls in a row, Lisa wanted to give Don a son  so much.
She couldn't understand why the post-delivery was so  different from having the girls...later learned
that she was experiencing her first Kidney stone!

Goes well with the missing teeth and broken arm of his sisters.

flew to California.

Macauly CaulKin in "Home Alone".

 Franklin Elementary

#9  1996 - Fishing at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, AZ
1996 - Carving pumpKins is a family tradition.
1996 - Kevin caught a snaKe on the
Father and Sons Outing. Yikes!

1997 - We loved jumping in the
backyard on our trampoline!
#10  1997 - Not Knex, but Legos, were
a favorite pastime.
#11  1998 - Billiards and driving Pepere's golf Kart
is a great 'boys night out'!

for 11th birthday.
1998 - 1st Summer Drama WorKshop,
'Jamaica Me Crazy'
#13  2000 - Went to dinner at the
"Kyoto Bowl" after his 1st
Priesthood Session
2000 - Occasionally sleeps with
one foot kicked up in the air.
2000 - Kiwi's on his Pavlova cake

#14  2001 - A week with Uncle Rick in Dallas, TX
2001 - Finding fireworks
is always Kevin's quest
#15  2002 - Martinelli's SparKling Cider
for Kevin's 14th B-day dinner
#16  2003 - His Eagle Project taught him the
value of work and leadership.
2003 - The 'Krew' pulled 15 lbs of 'Knails' and
staples from the 21-telephone poles

MORP with Andrea Stradling
dressed as'Team Rocket'
cartoon characters
#18  2005 - Give me a 'K' - Kevin
ran for Student Council

with Britnee Johnson
#19  2006 - There is definitely 'no pink' (ha ha)
on Sheriff Joe's 'Bad Boy'
#20  2007 - Kevin & Jill Carroll won

authentic stitches on his head a
definite advantage
#21  2008 - Uncle Kevin visits the Kiddo's,

Kayla said, 'YES'!!

Kevin's Quarter Century birthday - K?

Sunday, March 24th, 2013 marks 25 years for our boy, Kevin. We are celebrating this achievement with the letter 'K'.  Here is what the Mesa, AZ Lussier's did:

Food:  For breakfast we had Kix or Kashi  cereal.  Lunch had a side-order of Kettle cooked chips.  We tried a new recipe for dinner, Kielbasa Lentil Stew, followed by a favorite dessert of Klondike Bars!

Sean worked on his power point for Kodiak .

Make a wish, Kevin, for another 25 wonderful years!

And from other Lussier's...

Kev we had you in our thoughts yesterday! And though this may be a stretch, here is how we celebrated your day.
We woke up at the krack of dawn to gain knowledge about beef brisKet dry rubs, but realized we were missing some of the killer ingredients necessary. Our kar didn't start up the first time we turned the key, but Oscar got us to church in time to klaim a keen seat up front. In Sunday school we had a kind old lady tell of us of her kindred in Mesa. I had a bag of sunflower seeds to help keep me awake in Relief Society because we had a kreepy, drunK visitor ring our doorbell around 2am on your bday. For dinner we had korn dogs, chicKen, ketchupkappleskheese, and mushrooms. And I kissed Dev in the kitchen, just for you Kevin!
Sure love ya!

Today's theme: "Keep it simple". So, we had K-shaped pancakes for breakfast...and to quote Brian, "Kevin, I could eat you for breakfast." we went to church, sang our hearts out at choir, came home, made a Kevinesque feast, and had a couple over for dinner - the wife's name started with a "k", and the highlight was listening to the cd of Kev singing at our reception.
Kevin, I hope you had a birthday to remember! It'll be awhile before you add another quarter of a century to your life!

Celebrating Charlotte's 5th Birthday with C c c

Charlotte may live in Michigan, but she was in our thoughts and heart all day on the 21st as we looked for ways that started with the letter C to celebrate her 5th birthday .  Here is what the Mesa, Arizona branch of the family came up with...
Before the Crack of dawn, Pepere ate his Cereal at the Computer with Charlotte and other grandkids

Sean chose a Collared, Checked, Cornflower blue shirt to wear.  Doesn't he look Chipper?!

Breakfast was all about Circles.  AJ designed these pancakes.  The right one is singing "Happy Birthday to You"

Meme wore her hair Curly, and Chose a Crimson red, collared shirt.  The Card was drawn with Crayola  markers.

Lunch was a Cranberry, Pecan, Chicken Salad Sandwich on a Croissant with Cheetos and Celery sticks.  Jeanette and Devin took some with them for the car ride back to Flagstaff.

Don & Lisa brought a Collection of 'C' games to play with Cousins...Kemp, Chloe, Bentley, Curtis & Charly.  We had Connect Four, Lego Creators, Chess, Chinese Checkers, Cadoo, Chutes & Ladders, and Canasta to choose from.

The Cousins chose 'Lego Creators'.  Chloe Constructed her Creation 1st!

5 Candles on Carrot Cake (no raisins) with Cream Cheese frosting.
(Kemp wanted to know how you could have a party without Charlotte?!?)

Happy Birthday, Charlotte!  Here's your piece of  carrot cake...maybe Pepere can help you consume it (lol)

And from other Lussier's...

We didn't take any pictures, but mom can vouch for most of our "C" activities as we shared the majority of their C-meals. We had a circular breakfast and a lunch that was amazing, and I'll let mom take credit for both.
Dev and I had to take a car ride back home in capricious Flagstaff. When we got home we left the door open so we could chill in the chilly air. Then we ate chicken for dinner while watching "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs." After dinner we cleaned up a bit and had a cook-off playing Cooking Mama.
We sure do love ya Charlotte A Yates!!

This was easier for me to do than send an email with all the pictures I know Mom wants. Here's a link if you haven't seen what I posted on Facebook. I think my favorite part of the day was when Charlotte was telling Alaynna we were going to dinner and had to clarify by saying "You know, a Sea (C) restaurant, like the water."

P.S. And, no, this doesn't mean I will be blogging with any sense of regularity.  :)

We had a crazy carnival of 'c's today!
Cleaned the counters, cabinets, counters, Owen's chompers, clothes and carpet.
Called Charlotte and Sang "Cappy Cirthday co cou" and sent a card.
Made chilled-chocolate-cluster-cookie-cake and lit a candle.

Charlotte, we sure loved celebrating your birthday this year!
